Today we're featuring a very attractive email design for The Rabbit Mountain Almanac, a weekly digest of the latest happenings around Centre County, Pennsylvania.
We love the old-school style of the email, from the name to the overall style and subtle decorative elements. The positioning of the table of contents and forward to a friend is also spot on, and would hopefully appear in many recipient preview panes by default. To ensure consistency, the designer has also personalized their forward to a friend page.
Our only recommendation would be to change the section titles in the email to text instead of an image to ensure they're visible with images disabled. Of course, that means sacrificing a little old-school look and feel. Who said email design was supposed to be easy?

Thanks you guys, I really appreciate the positive feedback. I actually have no formal design training so it's a confidence boost when other designers like my work.
I did debate whether to use text or image for the subheads. When I tested it with images off, I thought the alt text was clear enough in the image box, so I opted to sacrifice usability-correctness for the added style.
Got anything to add?
