Connecting Campaign Monitor and Magento

Magento

The number of plugins and extensions for using Campaign Monitor with external web tools continues to grow. Today we have the Fontis Campaign Monitor extension for Magento, the open source ecommerce platform.

Using this extension, you can connect your newsletter setup inside your Magento install to any of your Campaign Monitor lists. From the extension description:

This extension integrates Magento with the Campaign Monitor mailing list manager. Users are added to a specified Campaign Monitor email list when they subscribe to the newsletter in Magento, and removed when they unsubscribe. Users are also marked as unsubscribed in Magento when they click an unsubscribe link in a Campaign Monitor email.

If you are at all interested in an ecommerce system for you or your clients, then Magento is definitely worth a look. It's packed full with functionality, but is also very flexible, giving you lots of opportunities to build something really cool.

Magento also sends some awesome newsletters, as featured in our gallery, so you can't go wrong!

We're always excited to see new plugins and extensions appear, so if you are working on one yourself, definitely let us know, we'd love to publicise it.

  1. I would like to nominate “awesome” as the most overused (and misused) word of the century.

  2. Campaign Monitor team member

Nomination noted Dean, but I think there will be some pretty tough competitionfor that award.

  3. I reckon this is just aweso…I mean excellent. Great stuff. Just waiting for the MailBuild extension now.

  4. What about Interspire’s shopping cart (http://www.interspire.com) or Volusion (http://www.volusion.com)? Both have API’s (I have used Interspire’s before). Are you planning any integration? Personally I feel Magento is too clunky to use for a live store - great for testing and playing around but 110+ queries just to load the home page is a bit crazy.

  5. Will this also work with MailBuild, or is it exclusive to Campaign Monitor?
