New Feature: Forward to a Friend Customization

New Feature: Forward to a Friend Customization

Plenty of you guys have been taking advantage of our Forward to a Friend feature, so now we've made it even better! Now you've got the ability to completely customize the look of this page to match your clients branding.

We've tried to keep this pretty simple, so it's very similar to the current Client Report Access. On a per client basis you can add a header image, change the default font, give the page a new background color etc.

So how do you get started? Jump into the 'Manage Clients' section, click on the client you want to update and you'll see a new 'Customize the Forward to a Friend page' option. And if you couldn't be bothered changing anything, don't worry, we've made sure it still looks good for you too.

  1. Nice! Thanks!

Any chance of being able to change the language of the texts in these pages? Since, for example, in the forward to a friend page there are just 8 strings, it would be nice if we could either choose a different language (you guys would have to get people to translate) or just have 8 fields with the default text and we can change it to whatever we want, in another language or just with a different English wording.

    Hi Guido,

That’s a very interesting idea!! In the past we have staying away from translating the application into different languages because we have figured it would have been too large a task for a small team. But as you say, there isn’t much text on this page, so it’s a good candidate for this.

Is there anyone else out there that would be interested in this?

  3. I would like to see a dutch version, and I will be glad to make the translation for you guys! Good job!

  4. It would be fantastic if you could also change the text to another language.
I mainly use Dutch, so English forms would confuse some of my clients.
Keep up the great work! Loving the service!

  5. I certainly would. French would be my requirement.

What about instead of “Choose a Language”, user enter the labels they desire for that field? Should be less work for dev team no?

    dbField: Name
    Display as: Nom
    Input Field: Name

  6. Thanks for the suggestions guys. Right now we’re considering our options for multilingual versions. We’ll be in touch if we need translations.

  7. Thanks a bunch for listening to your customers! I think you gave us just enough functionality to brand the page for consistency.  One question… how do I put the tag around an image without it replacing the image with text???

  8. Hey Jason,

That was actually a slight bug that we squashed as soon as we saw your comment. Thanks for the heads up.

  9. Is it possible to prevent users from entering their email address and instead use the email address directly from your server (since anyone who forwards to a friend are already known subscribers in your DB)?  This way, the sender of the message is held accountable and cannot enter a fake name/email address along with an inappropriate message to the recipient(s).

  10. hello,

i am subscribing for a romanian translation. please brief me with what i have to do.
