Not sure if you've heard but we're now able to read you IPTC info when you upload your images via FTP or the submit tool. In fact, some of the cool images above were submitted just like that!

New to all the acronyms? Check out our easy-to-follow FTP instructions (you've gotta be at least a Carny in order to upload via FTP, so make sure you've had 3 photos accepted), and submit your images today. Who knows, you might just end up in the next version of All Over Oliver!

Featured Carny: George Bailey

George Bailey (LuckyOliver screen name: geoarts) has been taking photographs for more than 30 years, and has been a professional photographer for almost as long. Starting out his career as a fine artist, George's interest in photography was initially secondary to his interest in painting. He recently had a conversation with LuckyO word maven Amy about his work, his life and a few pieces of advice he'd give up-and-coming photographers.

LO: Tell me a little bit about how you got started in photography
GB: I've been taking photographs for about 30 years--I've been a professional photographer for around twenty of those, and actually started out as a fine artist. I got interested in photography mainly because of my interest in painting and drawing in a very photorealistic technique--what I'd do is project a slide onto canvas, then I'd draw or paint over top of the projected images.

After a while of that, I realized that I wanted to get more into the photography end of things, and I wanted to develop the art of my photography a little bit more. I started learning more about photography through books, magazines and just going out and taking pictures on my own. I also did some work with a company shooting photographs for an educational software catalog, and I've been taking photos of all sorts of things ever since.
