Benton Nyce presents
Designed by Eric Steinhilber
Lots of white space and a minimalist feel suit this gallery announcement. The two columns should degrade nicely if full css is not available, and even without images it would work well.
Note also the highly visible forward to a friend button - a good way to generate some local interest in the event.

Inside Packaging
Designed by Catalyst Studios
A smart idea and great execution help this email to be highly effective. Designed for Target by Catalyst Studios, the packaging graphics don't overwhelm the content of the email.
It's old school tables and font tags for maximum compatibility, which makes it a bit heavier than a typical email, but beautifully done.

The Medium
Designed by The Medium
A great color palette helps this simple newsletter make an inbox impact. We love the big call to action in the center box that really jumps out.
One thing that could be improved is integrating the unsubscribe link into the design, but it remains a great piece of email design.

Creative Spark
Designed by Creative Spark
The UK based design firm, Creative Spark, bring us a fun and striking announcement email. They've carried their branding through from their site, but managed to make the structure and size suit the constraints of email.
We loved the impact of the big images carefully positioned. Great work!

FOOA Conference
Designed by Apples to Oranges
The latest workshop from the busy team at Carson Systems focuses on Online Advertising, and the announcement email is a simple two column design, beautifully executed.
Research has shown that using photos of peoples faces helps readers to connect with the copy, and this email makes good use of the speakers headshots. It's a useable and attractive email design.

RapidWeaver
Designed by Ben Counsell
This smooth and friendly email from Realmac Software is a purchase confirmation for their RapidWeaver web creation product.
The colorful and clear design is in contrast to the normal impenetrable and dense serial number emails we have all received in the past. We also liked the helpful links to getting started resources. This is a great example of making a transactional email part of the whole product experience.

Chirpmill
Designed by Curtis Cottrell and Glenn Davies
When a group of experienced designers form a new company, expectations are set high. ChirpMill have come up with the design goods in their first newsletter. They have used an uncommon color combination, but it really works to set the design apart.
This is only a simple introductory announcement, but it quickly shows the style and brand of the new company. We look forward to seeing more from the Mill in the future.

Aurora Christmas Collection
Designed by Jonathan Nicol and Monique de Jong
This gallery entry for Aurora Spa Retreat is all about focus and consistency. The layout is simple and clear, a single column design that would work well even without the images. We love the way the template is designed specifically for the products it is advertising - taking colors and patterns from the physical product and carrying them into the email.
Combined with prominent, consistent calls to action in the purchase buttons, this is a campaign that has been clearly thought through and targeted at a specific audience.

Trigg-Smith Architects
Designed by Christopher Kalima
We loved the style of this smooth looking newsletter for Hawaiian based Trigg-Smith Architects.
The combination of the wood grain background, earthy tones and great photography make this newsletter a real treat for the eyes. The email itself highlights great looking samples from the company's portfolio and outlines what the firm is all about.
One possible suggestion would be to keep the calls-to-action text based in case images were disabled, but we also understand this is a very visual newsletter and really needs images on for a full impact.

Tonic Vision Newsletter
Designed by Tonic
Today we're showcasing a cool promotional email for the equally cool Tonic Vision, a London based moving image design firm.
The email does a nice job of promoting their various services and highlights a number of recent projects and successes. The large, text based header also does a great job of encouraging their recipients to read more and just as importantly, looks good with images on or off.
