1. East Day Spa

    East Day Spa

    Designed by East Day Spa

A rich and warm feel for this special offer email sets the mood for the East Day Spa's services. We loved the interaction between the graphical decorations and the photos.

Our only suggestion would be to bump up the text size a bit - make it relaxing to read as well as look at!

  2. Dumbo feather

    Dumbo feather

    Designed by Beth Wilkinson

This invitation for Sydney based 'mook' (half mag, half book!) Dumbo feather has a pleasingly hand crafted feel.

The torn paper effect works well in the context of the product itself, and we love the bold treatment of the invitation copy itself.

  3. The Bath House

    Bath House

    Designed by Debbi Stringfellow

Today we have an example of a simple, focused email design. The Bath House is an English toiletries company, and this is their pre Mother's day campaign.

It has a less commercial feel than many Mother's Day emails, and makes good use of the one striking tulip to draw your eye in. We like the idea of the 'inspire me' button - perfect for those last minute Mothers Day emergencies!

  4. Receiver Gallery

    Receiver Gallery

    Designed by Jay Hakkinen

The San Francisco based Receiver Gallery showcases local and national artists through their exhibition space, and this email is an invitation to visit a recent show.

Although the images are quite large in file size, the email holds together without them showing, and for the topic and audience it is a reasonable option. We particularly liked that the heading, in plain text, has been brought up above the main image and is immediately visible.

  5. Word Harvest Mission News

    Word Harvest Mission News

Designed by Les Swift and Matthew Smith

Today we're highlighting a very nice looking email invitation sent on behalf of World Harvest Mission.

This beauty is entirely CSS based, and just like Mark Wyner's sample email, degrades gracefully to a nicely formatted rich text email in those email environments with less CSS support, such as Gmail.

The design also looks great with or without images enabled, and we were also impressed with the attention to detail used in the secondary conference informaiton at the bottom of the email.

    Center for Houston's Future Invitation

    Designed by Danny Zevallos

Today we're highlighting a clean and simple email invitation sent by the Center for Houston's Future.

This design looks great with or without images turned on and encourages a full viewing from any kind of preview pane. A great example of a simple, effective email based invite.

  7. Spoleto Festival Newsletter

    Spoleto Festival Newsletter

    Designed by Nathan Steiner

Today we're featuring a great looking email from Atlanta based Twinsparc for the 2006 Spoleto Festival.

We liked this email for its simplicity, great supporting images and the fact that it's so easy to scan if you're in a hurry (and who isn't). The call-to-action to purchase tickets is also nicely done throughout the email.

Refreshingly, the entire campaign is CSS based, no tables are used for formatting. This is another great example of a well formatted email that will still fall back to an attractive rich text email in email environments with bad CSS support.

If you're interested in this approach (and you should be), we've written about the best approach to CSS emails, as well the CSS support that each popular email environment offers to help get you started.

  8. beyond:30 Conference Invitation

    beyond:30 Conference Invitation

    Designed by Larissa Wiese

Today we're featuring a nicely designed email invitation for the annual beyond:30 Conference being held in Perth, Australia in January 2006.

The link to a web based version of the campaign is well placed and the colors and general look and feel of the email seem spot on.

The designer's also promised that the next campaign they send will be completely CSS based without tables, so we're looking forward to seeing what they come up with and how well it works across different email environments.

  9. The Columbus Museum of Art Newsletter

The Columbus Museum of Art Newsletter

    Designed by Grip Technology

The team from Grip Technology have been at it again, this time with a nice simple newsletter for The Columbus Museum of Art.

The email avoids too much fluff and gets straight into what the audience is interested in - what's happening and when. The primary navigation on the web site is also repeated in the header of the email so readers can jump straight to an area of interest for more information.
