1. Austin Advertising Federation

    Austin Advertising Federation

    Designed by Olive Design

This tight little newsletter sent by the Austin Advertising Federation caught our eye recently. Like many of the other designs we've featured recently, this email gets a tick for great looks, scannability, and readability even with images disabled.

Our favourite bit would have to be the unsubscribe link:

"If you are saying, 'Take me off this #*+%$# list', you may unsubscribe here."

Nothing like a little sense of humour to lighten up what's usually the serious section of an email.

  2. Trident eUpdate

    Trident eUpdate

    Designed by Trident Communications

We're big fans of this monthly newsletter sent by the international design firm Trident Communications. Not only does the email look great, but it serves a number of purposes very well.

By breaking the newsletter up into bite-sized chunks that are visually separated, subscribers can easily scan the email to find the juicy bits they're interested in. The "Further Information" column on the right of each chunk also ties the story back to their relevant services nicely.

Another feature which is fast becoming a requirement for every email, the design works great when images are disabled. This means that no matter what their recipient's email environment is, the newsletter will still look great and remain easy to read.

  3. Off-Press Newsletter

    Off-Press Newsletter

Designed by Bradley Brown Design Group

This well designed email announcement recently grabbed our attention as a great way to introduce new team members to your customers/subscribers.

Sent by Bradley Brown Design Group, a Pittsburgh-based graphic design firm, the email features quick interviews with each new team member.

One really interesting touch was not only listing the employees signature song, but actually linking to an MP3 version of the song for the recipient to check out themselves.

  4. Fuse Newsletter

    Fuse Newsletter

    Designed by Trusty and Company

Today we're featuring a great monthly newsletter design by Trusty and Company, an Ohio based design and advertising firm.

The big, bold article titles are hard to miss and make the newsletter super easy to scan for the good stuff. On top of their own advice and articles, the newsletter also features unique bits of content their subscribers might find interesting. From spooky recitations by Willem Dafoe to quotes from Einsteen.

With the number of information your subscribers are bombarded with in their inbox every day, it's crucial to ensure your emails contain not only relevant, but interesting content. We think Trusty and Company are doing a great job of exactly that.

  5. Via Alley Newsletter

    Via Alley Newsletter

    Designed by Ben Hsu

Via Alley is a brand new initiative aimed at igniting the creative spark in all of us. The site features a growing online gallery, unique store and forum - and they chose Campaign Monitor to send the best bits to their community each month.

The newsletter design is unique but remains consistent with the spirit of the site. How cool are those salt and pepper shakers!

Only one complaint, this newsletter really doesn't work well at all with images turned off. The importance of designing for this situation is getting increasingly important and is something every email designer needs to be wary of.

  6. Welcome Works Launch Announcement

    Welcome Works Launch Announcement

    Designed by Sean Alsobrooks

Nicely designed promotional email for California based Welcome Works. The header graphic nicely summarises what they're all about and remains consistent with their web site. The email also scales back to a clean rich text version with images turned off.

The unsubscribe copy is well written and while our software makes it impossible to resend to any unsubscribers, it's always nice to drop in a promise to back it up.

  7. KKCS Country Club Newsletter

    KKCS Country Club Newsletter

    Designed by Wilson Miner

Today we're going all country and featuring a great looking weekly newsletter for US radio station KKCS.

For starters, you really can't go past the denim background. Each of the main stories are concise, well written and easy to scan. On top of the high quality design, the newsletter also includes very useful info like upcoming events that might interest their listeners and the latest releases to hit the airwaves.

  8. Lakewood Croquet News Headlines

    Lakewood Croquet News Headlines

    Designed by Tom Carmony

I always had the impression the only requirement to play croquet was grey hair. Boy was I wrong!

You know you're in for something different with a tagline of "Mallets plus morons equals mayhem". Follow that up with allegations of player sabotage, nasty rumours and stories about records being smashed and you've got a pretty interesting and well designed email newsletter.

I'll never look at a croquet player the same again.

    Ribby Hall Village

    Designed by Adam Knowles

Today we're featuring a great looking email campaign from the folks at UK based Connectpoint Advertising.

The newsletter features all of the creative ingredients for a successful email. Short, concise text. Check. Bullet points where possible. Check. Clear call to action. Double check. Bundle all of this into a great looking design and you're clearly on to a winner.

I know where I'd like to be heading for a weekend some time soon.

  10. Mission to South Africa Monthly Updates

Mission to South Africa Monthly Updates

    Designed by David Ditges

Dave Ditges uses an email newsletter to keep his readers in the loop each month about his latest experiences as a missionary in South Africa.

I like how Dave goes to extra lengths to encourage his recipients to add him to their address book by linking to a full explanation of why it's such a good idea.
