Silberpuls
Designed by Ben Mueller
This understated email from Ben Mueller not only follows all the best practices of email design but does so with excellent taste and execution (except for the lack of a permission reminder, but one could argue that that is taken care of in the greeting). The text is text, the images are images and what's more, the images are lovely and subtle and used entirely for ornamentation; the text is also styled oh so nicely with lots of leading to make it easy to read, provided you read German. Lastly, the width of the wrapper div is a modest 450px, which will even fit the iPhone screen when in landscape orientation. Looks like every detail was paid attention to on this one, nice job!Posted in: One column, Announcement

How much text do you think we should have on each article to make it interesting? also if I have a few columns and you are using conditional content, how should I place the articles? (horizontal or vertical?)

To me the text length seems to be perfect — short enough to have fun while reading / and long enough to know what’s it about. If you have mulit-columns, it could be great to use one for the image (because most mailings/newsletters seem to be higher than the total width), and one for your comment and conditional contents? So vertical design might lead to a better usability? Thank’s a lot for your post!

I like this design really a lot. But the guy sending this mail to my inbox is even greater.
Alex: I think you should always keep your mails/newsletter short. Write your content, throw half of it away and keep half of the rest. You really don’t want to bore people since unsubscribe is only one click away.

I think this is better example for better design with minimal color, minimal images and minimal text with more white spaces…. but still it grab attention.
over all its great design!
