There’s something so positive about Charlie Pratt‘s email newsletter. Is it the simplicity of layout, limited palette, or large type declaring that it’s been “A very good year”? Perhaps it’s all of these things, knitted together by copy thats full of hope, aspirations and a pinch of awesome.

Hi, I agree this is a fine example of an HTML email but when viewed in Outlook 2007 it falls apart pretty badly! I understand well the limitations of the horrible word rendering engine and also that some senders are lucky enough to have no need to worry about supporting Outlook 2007/2010. However, it would be very useful if you could mention compatibility in your reports to help folk like me in the situation of having to support all major clients.

Yep, don’t I know it—I didn’t have time this time around to make it dummy-proof. As I look at my BEAUTIFUL reports (wink wink, CM), 78% of the people that viewed the email were using non-Outlook 2007 products. So until that shifts….
But either way, thanks for the heads up.

What?! No tables! I might pay the $5 just to run this through your testing and see how it degrades.

Nice! Are these email templates for sale? I’d like to use this design on my email campaigns as well.
