Unlimited
Designed by Portable Studios
I really like this simple, clean email for Unlimited, by Portable Studios; it has a feel that's pleasantly reminiscent of print even though all the text is text (as it should be, right?). The above the fold is especially notable with its use of a grid and its focus on black and white imagery. Also, the small photos on the grid are repeated through the rest of the email, giving a nice consistency to the entire design.
I particularly like the use of the dashed line down the side and as horizontal rules to segment out the content. I'm always a big fan of lots of size contrast between a headline and its content, which this email doesn't shy away from: Portable Studios aren't afraid of wrapping a headline across three or four lines. This makes it all that more scannable and readable. The narrow width of the email can increase readability as well, and ensures that it will look great on mobile devices, too.
