This introductory email to qnorthern by Stu Bamforth is neat and tidy with a strong element of intrigue. It may be the dark, mysterious color scheme - or the curious lighthouse photo - that creates a sense of wanting to know more that encourages the viewer to read on.

Functionality-wise, it’s nice to see a text unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email too incase the side bar image links don’t load. A recommendation would be to move the webversion to the top of the email, so recipients need not scroll through to the bottom of the design if they wish to use the link.
