In this bold email invitation designed by Studio Spice & Co. for Digital Jam studio, we were immediately struck with its contrasting colors and strong layout. Techno-hipster images with crisp lines direct our eyes to smartly, text-driven headings and at the same time, effortlessly funneling attention through the content.  I especially enjoyed the pseudo-map image of a venue layout, complete with an icon to show bicycle parking!

As wonderful as the images are, though, they are quite limiting when used to link important information as well as their nasty habit of disappearing when inactive. In this case, the important links to the Digital Jam’s website, social sharing and artist information are tied up in images or image maps which, unfortunately, disappear when images are turned off.  A few minor tweaks using text for certain portions, would really let this email shine, but the overall design and execution is excellent!
