A little confused on getting the email for this blog post - it was sent from “Support@campaignmonitor.com” and had no details on what the content was besides a large embedded image. Are the emails sent from this blog automated? It’s a great design, but due to the ambiguous email content I only discovered it was an email design once I visited this website. It’d be great to get a little more context with the the HTML emails that get sent out for these kind of posts, else they seem rather spammy - for a moment I thought ESPONCE hi-jacked the CM blog!
Hi everyone, we’re so sorry about the confusion we’ve been causing here with our RSS-to-email updates for our gallery and blog. We updated our template the other week to include the message, “The latest email news and inspiration from the Campaign Monitor Blog”, however as you say, it’s a minimalist template and things like this get overlooked.
I’d love to get your thoughts on what we could do better here. Should we change the subject line to mention that it’s a gallery/blog update? Or make the message a little longer?
The issue seems to be particularly with the rather context-less gallery entries, so another thought is that we should add a little description under each one (like we used to).
Keen to hear your thoughts, so by all means, let us know what you would find to be helpful :)
A “pre-header” message would help resolve this. Pre-header area for the newsletters we design in the designer would be great too! Unfortunately, unless I pre-design my own templates, I cannot, we cannot, take advantage of this email template design feature at this time.
Thanks for the great suggestion, John - not all email clients display pre-headers, mind. That said, we’ve turned off the RSS email updates for the gallery for now, but may turn them back on at a later date.
What do you think?

Also confused by this.

+1—The minimal emails are super confusing. I actually emailed support asking “What is this?” to one similar to this weeks ago.
