Hot on the heels of our earlier HTML email newsletter contract, we’ve created another handy resource for designers and resellers – an HTML email creative brief. This no-frills template is available as a madlibs-style web form that you can add to your site (see demo below) and is also free to download as a Word document. As it’s totally white-label, all you have to do is format it nicely, pop in your logo and it’s ready print, email and share:
View the creative brief online | Download the brief as a Word document (28kb)
The creative brief format will be familiar to all who have worked with digital agencies, however we’ve tailored it specifically for email design jobs. Of course, you’re more than welcome to add additional questions, strip it back and make any improvements.
If you haven’t worked with a creative brief before, I’ll let you in on a little secret – a lot of designers are in the same boat. After all, it’s more like an informal questionnaire to determine your clients’ requirements, than a heavy, legally-binding document. However, I’ve personally found them to be a massive time-saver at the kickoff of any design project, as they check off many of the major questions that should precede any job and save you from second-guessing the rest.
Many thanks to @davebaskind for initially suggesting that we create a white-label HTML email creative brief – it’s well overdue, my friend.
