If your email inbox is anything like ours, you’re probably seeing a lot of heart emoji and love-filled subject lines. There’s a good reason as according to the National Retail Federation’s Valentine’s Day Consumer Spending Survey conducted by Prosper Insights and Analytics, the average person celebrating Valentine’s Day will spend $142.31 on candy, flowers, apparel and more, up from $133.91 last year. Total spending is expected to reach $18.9 billion, a survey high.
We recently shared 45 Valentine’s email subject lines and awesome tips to help you create emails your subscribers will love. In today’s post, we’ve got some inspiring examples of Valentine’s Day email campaigns that nailed it — from emoji in the subject lines, to engaging imagery and enticing preheader text that made our hearts beat a little faster. Jaybird – Feel the Love
Jaybird nails it with this sleek email promotion of their X2 Fire & Storm products. The big, bold hero imagery is completely on point.

Birchbox – Try 7 Scents & Get $30 Toward Your Fave
Call us email geeks, but we love good preheader text, so when we got this email from Birchbox, we fell hard for this offer right in the preheader, “Snag our New Romantics Sampler, plus a $30 Fragrance Certificate.”

Sesame Gifts – There’s still time! Send today for Valentine’s Delivery 💝
Sesame grabbed our attention with this last-minute campaign just a few days before Valentine’s reminding us there was still time to snag a swoon-worthy gift for our sweetie. They get extra points for the emoji in the subject line.

Uncommon Goods – Glittering Gifts for Valentine’s Day
We especially love the “view this email in a browser” line in this email from Uncommon Goods. They customized it for Valentine’s Day with “Email’s broken-hearted? View in a browser.”

AllSaints – The Valentine’s Edit
The preheader of this slick email from AllSaints made our heart beat a little faster with the copy, “Gifts for him, her, or even yourself.” Presenting content in categories (for him, her or even yourself) helps subscribers find the perfect gift.
