Last month we hit a very exciting milestone for Campaign Monitor. As most of you know, we make it easy to set a marked-up price your clients should pay when sending their own email newsletters from your account. They pay the price you set, we send you any profit you’ve earned at the end of the month.

Only one year ago in May 2009, we broke the $1 million mark for profits distributed to customers. It took more than 2 years to break that barrier. Amazingly, in the last 12 months you guys have tripled that number. May 2010 saw us pass $3 million in mark-up profits earned. Here’s a chart showing how your profits have grown over the last few years.


At our current growth rate we’ll pass the $5 million point before the year is out. The figures above are in US dollars, but we let you charge your clients in a range of currencies such as the Euro, Canadian, Australian, Pound Sterling and New Zealand dollars.

That’s not the best part

While these numbers blew us away, you need to remember that this is only the profit earned by customers that are using our mark-up system. Loads of you are paying us directly and then invoicing your customers a higher rate yourself. Not to mention the money earned for template design, content preparation and any strategic help you might have charged your clients for on top of the delivery fee.

I can’t tell you how nice it is to know how many designers out there are earning some serious passive income letting their clients send through Campaign Monitor. Making this easy was the original motivation for building the software in the first place. Rest assured, we’ve got more plans cooking to make reselling easier and give you more flexibility in how you bill your clients. In the meantime, enjoy the profits.
