In this post, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step of how to send a survey in your email campaign.
Step 1: Connect GetFeedback with Campaign Monitor
If this is the first time you’re sending a GetFeedback survey from your Campaign Monitor account, and you also want to create the survey within Campaign Monitor, you’ll need to make sure you connect your GetFeedback account with Campaign Monitor. To do this, click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of Campaign Monitor and then click “Integrations” from the dropdown menu.
If you haven’t activated any apps in your Campaign Monitor account, you will see the following notification when you click on “Integrations.”
Next, click on “see apps that work with us” and select “GetFeedback,” and follow the instructions to activate the GetFeedback app. If you don’t see this option in your account, contact [email protected]
You can also connect by going into the email builder and clicking on the survey button (shown below in Step 4) as well.
Once you have successfully connected your GetFeedback account, you can create your survey right within Campaign Monitor. If you have already created surveys in your GetFeedback account, you’ll be pleased to know that since the integration is complete and automatic, you will be able to access all of your existing GetFeedback surveys too.
Step 2: Create your survey using GetFeedback
After you have connected GetFeedback with Campaign Monitor, the next step is to create and test your survey. This involves including any redirects or exit pages you want and making sure you preview the survey to ensure it’s working exactly like you want.

Step 3: Create your email in Campaign Monitor
Once your survey is created, it’s time to create your email. To do this, click on the green button that says “Create new email.”
Now it’s time to start creating the email. You will name the email, write a subject line, fill in who it is from, add your recipient list from the dropdown menu, and then press “Build your email” in order to start importing your content.
Once you have clicked “Build your email,” you will be taken to a page where you can select a template for your email design. You can either select one of our templates or create a completely new template.
Once you have selected your template, it’s time to add your content.
Once you have added your logo and all your content, you are ready to officially add your survey to your email.
Step 4: Add your survey
While adding content to your email, you will see six content options including “Survey” on the left side of the page.
Once you’ve clicked on “Survey,” you’ll be able to select and add your survey. If you’ve already built your survey, then simply scroll through your surveys until you find the one you want to insert into your email, and click on it in order to add it.
In the case you want to create a new survey, select “New.” A new browser window will open where you can create your survey.
Once you have selected your survey, you can customize your call to action button. Campaign Monitor allows you to customize the text, the text color, the button color, and the button alignment, so your survey link button appears exactly how you want it to.
Once you are done customizing, click “Done editing,” and the link to your survey will be inserted into the email. Now your email recipients will see the survey button right in your email.
The whole process of adding your survey is simple and only takes a few minutes.
Step 5: Preview and test your email
Once your email looks exactly how you want it to, you can preview it by clicking on the “Preview” button located at the top-right corner of the screen.
The preview button will show you how your email will look on both a desktop and a mobile device.
Finally, give your content a quick edit, test it by sending it to yourself, and view it on a mobile device and a desktop computer. Once the previewing and testing is complete, you’re ready to send your email with your survey to your subscriber list.
Step 6: Track your results
After you have sent your survey from Campaign Monitor, you’ll be happy to know that we will automatically track your results. You will be able to see your open and your response rates in real-time.
