I'm running into an issue with Gmail that seems new to me; basically Gmail is changing the background colour of the table in an email, despite both the table background colour and the <td> background colours being defined in the HTML/CSS.
Here's the original design:
and this is what I'm seeing in the majority of email clients (Outlook, Mail, Hotmail, Yahoo! mail etc.)
However, in Gmail I get this:
I have all <td>'s set to #fff background colour, both in the CSS and using the 'bgcolor=' attribute on the tag itself, and then I have a class for the 3 table cells that I do want to be black (with the reversed out text).
Anyone have any ideas what's going on? Does Gmail think I'm trying to be sneaky with white text on a white background?
Any help appreciated!
Try using the full web code #FFFFFF, not the short one. If that doesn't work, you might have to post the code...
Yep! Cheers John, I just came back here to post that I found that was exactly the reason. Using the full 6-character value fixed it.
