I would really really really like for Campaign Monitor to allow us coders an "if statement" in our HTML emails. This would allow for images or text to show/hide/change based on specific criteria. It would also allow to show hide items for a/b testing.
This has been an extremely useful feature on Mailchimp for about 5 years now.
Can we please get this in Campaign Monitor. Please!
Hi Rheal, that's a solid suggestion - we've been investigating something similar (dynamic content) for a while now and are keen to see how we can work this magic into the app. I'll certainly give this issue a bump on your behalf internally and keep you updated - thanks for letting us know this is something you're after :D
Big +1. I guess it is what would make this suggestion of mine work.
Does that make my vote count for +2? ;)
Haha, I'm happy to add another vote for you here, JohnP! Thank you so much, I really hope we can come to the party soon with this :)
Hi there sean, thanks for letting us know! I've added your vote for this internally, so fingers crossed the dev gods turn their gaze to us :)
Oooh can I +1 this too.
I'm looking after a few domains of the same site and have done a lot of stuff like
Call us on *|local-number|*
Meaning I need to add 2 custom fields in this simplified case
If I could use if statements I could do so much more cool stuff a lot easier.
Of course - it's my pleasure to add a vote for this on your behalf! We'll keep this thread updated as things change - thanks for letting us know!
Hi there Rheal, JohnP, MrMark and others - we're very glad to announce that dynamic content is finally available in your accounts. Using our new dynamic content tags and custom fields in your lists, it's now possible to add conditional content to your campaigns - including text, images, or even more dynamic content!
While you've likely already got a grip on how it all works, we've also got a new, comprehensive guide that explains the concepts, great applications for dynamic content and the language itself.
A huge thanks to everyone here for being so patient with us; we really hope that this update helps you send less, yet send more relevant newsletters. Naturally, we're also very happy to answer any outstanding questions you may have about dynamic content, so feel free to get in touch with our team, or post in the forums if we can help out in any way :)
