Hello CM team,

I hope this isn't too many feature requests :). Many have already been requested, but please add my vote:

Segments
1) 'Contains' operator in segment rules
2) Combining segments using AND, OR, and NOT logic (so we don't have to create every possible combination of segments)
3) Importing predefined segments (was also requested in  this post. This would mean we could use an external tool such as a CRM to generate the segment)

Autoresponders
4) Conditional autoresponders, ie; only send when the subscriber fields match certain conditions. This perhaps be acheived by segment based autoresponders, instead of list based.
5) More triggers for autoresponders. Eg; 'when Field1 is updated or when Field2 is updated'. Or 'When any field is updated'.

Conditional/dynamic content
6) Change text based on simple rules
7) Insert or swap complete sections, based on segments

Other
8) Spell check in the template editor (to eliminate the need of typing content in a word processor)
9) Worldview - be able to see every event that is located in one spot. (Often in the middle of a city you can only view the most recent event. Maybe you could do something similar to what realestate.com.au do for their map views?)
10) Sort sent campaigns into folders
11) Send campaigns according each subscriber's time zone
12) Increase the maximum length for custom field names

Hey there jayc - oh boy, is this a Christmas wish list and a half! They're all solid requests, so it's no trouble at all adding your name to them internally. Most certainly, we'll let you know if any of these make it into a future update - and chances are, some will :D However, re: 9)

9) Worldview - be able to see every event that is located in one spot.

At present, we only show the most recent 100 events, to limit the load on browsers (as you can imagine, map activity would get quite frantic with large sends). In addition, Worldview is based on IP address, which isn't necessarily an accurate determination of where a subscriber actually is. But we'll see what can be done.

Thanks, jayc! Keep up the great feedback and we'll do our best to get these improvements out to you.

Heres another one kind of related to conditional and dynamic content: the ability to have predefined content blocks, a bit like mini templates that could be dropped into content areas, potentially with logic depending on segments or other rules. Could be used for common items that clients may want to drop into different email templates example I can think of for one of my clients is local shop contact details...

roshodgekiss roshodgekiss, 1 year ago

Hey there djwhiskey, always good to hear from you! Ah, this is something we've had a few requests for, especially the drag-and-drop functionality. No worries at all with adding your vote for this one - while it isn't in our immediate plans, we'll hopefully fit it into our editor at a later date.

Thanks djwhiskey - have a rad weekend ahead!

Suggestion: Keep updating of data fields of duplicates consistent

At the moment, the behaviours of updating data fields when importing duplicate email addresses are inconsistent, i.e.
1. If importing from "Manually add" tab and I copy and paste the 3 lines with duplicate email address below in

XYZ Team1, admin@a.b.com
Judy Johnson,    admin@a.b.com
Llew Macker,    admin@a.b.com

The last line will take precedence and the Name field will be filled with the most recent line added, i.e. "Llew Macker"

whereas
2. If "importing from a file" csv is used and the csv file contains the above 3 lines, the first line always takes precedence and the Name field will be filled with the oldest line, i.e. "XYZ Team1"

To me, the behaviour of (1) is logical as the bottom lines (newer) should always take precedence and the field data should be updated using the newer fields. Therefore can you please make Importing a file have the same behaviour?

roshodgekiss roshodgekiss, 1 year ago

Hey there spectronicswa, this is a curious one! Thank you so much for pointing out this inconsistent behaviour here - I've passed on these details to our development team, so they can look into this more closely.

In this interim, mind me asking, would it be preferable to screen your subscribers prior to importing from a file, to ensure that names are added/updated as intended? Thanks pectronicswa - we appreciate the feedback here :D

OK here's another one. I will freely admit first up that I haven't checked through every post in this thread to see if it's already been requested, however...

The new user management stuff is GREAT, but there's one nagging issue I have: the ability for one login to have access to multiple accounts for users who are NOT global administrators. For example, I work closely with a web development firm and their account managers need to have full administrator access to my account. I am happy for them to have full admin access to their own clients, but I would prefer they didn't have the ability to create new clients, have admin access for other clients, set pricing or see my markup earnings.

Unless I'm missing something major (I hope I am) this isn't currently possible from one login. The account managers need a separate login with separate (unique) email address for every client they have access to, and that's just too much of a pain when they are used to being able to switch between clients easily from one login.

Is this something that's been considered already?

roshodgekiss roshodgekiss, 1 year ago

Hey there goatlady, we've had a couple of requests for this one, as there have been a couple of teams like yours that require access to multiple clients. While we don't have a timeline as yet, it's certainly one for us to consider adding in a future update.

By all means i'll let you know if we add this - and yes, please do keep the feedback coming! :D

One that hasn't come up before for me but could be very useful - in the interface, the ability to add an individual subscriber including all their custom fields. At present, it seems to setup a new single subscriber where custom fields are setup you have to Add them, confirm and then click into them, click Edit and then update.

I know I could use the Create a subscribe form process, but it seems like a silly omission not to have it within the main app as the client will need to use a different interface and different site from where they're doing the rest of their subscriber management?

roshodgekiss roshodgekiss, 1 year ago

Hey there djwhiskey, you're right about us not having an all-in-one workflow for adding a subscriber + custom fields in the app. For the most part, this is because folks either tend to add new subscribers via a subscribe form, by importing a file into the app or through the API. Comparatively, manually adding subscribers one-by-one is fairly rare.

That said, it's something we're willing to consider at a later date, so i'll add your vote and keep you posted on this one :) Thanks for the great suggestion!

Yes, good suggestion and that's what we've been doing. We stick the most recent/up-to-date records at the begininng of the CSV and the oldest at the end. This way older records are skipped.

Thanks spectronicswa - that's great. We'll let you know if we receive any updates on our end, too. Have a good weekend :)

One which has been requested by a few of our clients now: Ability to add/edit basic html tables via the wysiwyg editor.

roshodgekiss roshodgekiss, 1 year ago

Hi again Phil1, thanks for the request! I'm happy to add your vote for this internally and keep you posted. In the interim, you may want to add some of the tables you have in mind as editable layouts in your email templates.

I and many new comers would like to see Chat added to support.  Going back and forth with emails is ineficient when there is a lot to discuss.

roshodgekiss roshodgekiss, 1 year ago

Hey there buddybear, support chat is something we've explored in the past and may well revisit in the future. Many thanks for letting us know that it's something you'd like to see - we'll certainly keep you updated if it's something we launch at a later date :)

for obvious reasons its best to store dates in a database as YYYY/MM/DD - however for the purpose using them in campaigns it would be good to add them in in different formats - as per this thread

Thanks venncreative, I'll happily add your vote for this. You've definitely got a valid case here, so hopefully we'll get this updated at a later date. Will keep you posted!

Just a quick note here to let you guys know that we've released a few API updates today.

One of the updates released is the ability to get email client usage data for campaigns via the API (mentioned in this forum topic).

You can catch today's announcement over at our API Announcements forum topic.

Hope that helps.

Hi All,

I might be a tad late to the party on this one considering it's nearly 2013 however I really wanted to add another vote for Dynamic/Conditional content. This is a feature that a fair share of your competitors have currently and one that I have previously used extensively with large email programs (with other solutions). Especially things like loyalty programs that have a central master database, you don't want to or sometimes cannot add fields for email content. I've only recently started using the platform and love it but I can see that the lack of this feature is going to hurt!

A massive +1 for this feature in 2013 please!!!

roshodgekiss roshodgekiss, 1 year ago

Technique, that's a great call - it's never too late to make a request here :) I'll pass this on to our team and keep you posted if it's something we plan to add in 2013 - thank you so much for letting us know :)

Any chance of a 2013 thread? :)

roshodgekiss roshodgekiss, 1 year ago

Haha, your wish is my command - here's the thread for 2013 :)

We'll still update this thread as feature requests like subscriber notifications come into being, though!
