We have just sent a 5000+ campaign - and all of the boucne backs are ending up in the reply-to address (the client) inbox.
The client is mad as hell.
a) is there anything we can do?
b) why has this happened?
These emails aren't actually bounce backs, but are things like out of office replies from your subscribers, or verification emails for certain spam filters. All actual bounces are sent to our servers and processed for you automatically.
Unfortunately, this is a negative side effect of the very positive benefits of allowing your subscribers to reply to you. Many mail servers will send the out of office reply to this address instead of bouncing it back to the return-path address, which points to our servers.
I'm not sure it's out of office replies - since the report is showing 0% bounce backs.
Marc, thanks for the follow up. The bounce processor can usually take a little while before the bounces start appearing in your account, but they will start populating eventually. If you can definitely confirm that these emails aren't out of office replies or anti-spam verification emails, please get in touch with the support team and we can look into it further for you.
