More and more people are coming back to me thrilled about their latest newsletter or the mailbuild template that I've put together for them, but I increasingly hear that the newsletter don't show up well on blackberrys, iphone, etc...
I don't have either, so can't do any testing... (I know, I need to get with the programme, but that's another matter).
I looked at the single click design and delivery testing offered by Campaign Monitor, but that only shows me what's wrong with the design. I've googled and searched and can't seem to find any resources on how best to design for mobile clients. Does anyone have any info on this?
Ideally I would like to run a test say, for Blackberry, see the screenshot, change something in my template and then run it again. Something similar to Browser shots (http://browsershots.org/) which test for browser compatibility. Is there anything like that out there?
For $5 Campaign Monitor tests your template in 17+ email clients, a bunch of Spam filters and these 3 mobile devices:
Windows Mobile 5
Windows Mobile 6
Have you considered adding a link at the top of your template for mobile users? I started to do this for a few clients after I saw retailers like Crate & Barrel add it to theirs:
"Viewing on a PDA? Click here to view this email in text" Here's a link from a Crate & Barrel email to the PDA version:
Thanks, that is indeed a good idea. I'll try this next time.
