Campaign Monitor and Multiple Users

I work in a small company with 2 or 3 people that would be working regularly with Campaign Monitor.  Are there any problems having multiple users?  Additional costs, etc?

Cheers!

Hi, we don't allow multiple user accounts per master account, but you can certainly have multiple people using the app at the same time with no extra charges. You can also create as many accounts as you like. You only ever pay when you send a campaign, there are no hidden fees anywhere in the app.

What? This doesn't make any sense. Why wouldn't you allow multiple log ins for the one client? There are situations where you need to provide client contacts with multiple users and permissions!?

I'm interested to hear your rationale.

We just keep things very simple with Campaign Monitor, and for a huge number of people, they have no need for the additional users, and many who do just share logins.

There are certainly situations where it would be helpful, but of course that is true of many hundreds of other feature requests we get, and if we added them all you can imagine how unusable Campaign Monitor would become.

So we are very selective about what gets added in order to protect the simplicity and ease of use of Campaign Monitor for the most customers. We do appreciate your feedback though, and have added your vote to our list.

+1 on this - have a client who has just signed up to use RedMail (our rebranded CM), but worried about the fact that we can't offer him multiple users on his account. One shared login for several departments (HR, marketing, admin) is a weakness, also he can't tell who sent what if there was to be unauthorised usage on their account. They prepay for credits. Thanks, Tim.

I agree, this is essential functionality. I have a client who would like to have an office junior work on the content, but not be able to send, then an editor approves the content and sends the newsletter.

I want them to manage the newsletters themselves but the only solution i can see is to not give them access to send and I send the newsletter for them, which takes up my time and costs me money.

Please CM add this functionality even if you have a limit to 3 or 4 users per account with multiple permissions, this would be a vast improvement.

Hi,

Thanks again for the feedback. We're not planning to add this functionality as I mentioned - if you do need that level of workflow management and approval, Campaign Monitor is not the best option - we really are trying to keep things much simpler than that.

I agree that this is vital functionality.  People do not share log ins in this day and age - could really be a deal killer with a couple clients.

One thing is to bloat a service with non-critical features like templates, iPhone App, etc... All of our clients could live without Template or CMS integration features... they are non critical, but most of them can't use this service because in corporate environments permissions are a MUST.

I really understand your selectiveness but as mentioned here this is not just one more feature, it's mission critical. And on the other side, this feature wouldn't complicate things for users who don't use it at all.
