So, let's say I have designed 30 templates and I have 30 clients. Do I have to manually import these 30 templates into each client account? Is there a way of uploading them automatically?
Please say yes!!
I am also very interested in this feature. Is this functionality in the works or available now?
Hi Barbara, I'm afraid that yes, this is something you'll need to do manually at this stage. Right now we don't allow the bulk import of templates across clients.
Please include this soon! This will be a deal breaker for us as we will have over 40 clients that need access to the same 30+ templates. Uploading/naming each template separately is just not feasible. It seems like it would be somewhat simple to add a "Use this template for all clients" option on the initial upload.
Also, if you have a many number of templates, how does CM handle the display/organize them? Is there paging if there are many? It would be great to have a sort and filter function on templates.
The first step we have planned is to allow you to add templates to a client's account via the API, so you could easily build something at your end that created a new client and loaded their account with the 30 required templates automatically.
As far as sorting goes, they will be sorted alphabetically at this stage. We don't offer the ability to sort into groups at this stage, but that's a great suggestion that I've made a note of.
A quick "hack" to sort templates in the order you want, is to name them "1. [template name]", "2. [template name]", etc.
Thats great about the new feature to add templates to a client's account via the API. Any thoughts to when this will be implemented? That will be the day we launch to all of our clients.
This is really important to our business too. Question is if we build our "own product" will we be able to share the templates across clients the way Campaign Monitor does? I assume it would be the case.
Can you clarify what you mean by 'share the templates across clients the way Campaign Monitor does'?
Every client has individual templates in Campaign Monitor, so you would need to upload your templates for each client.
What is the status of this? This is a deal breaker for us (although we still can't find another company that even lets you add custom templates like this).
We haven't got any updates to give you since Dave's last post above - it's something on the cards but not scheduled in.
Do you recommend any way we can easily set-up 300 clients to manage their own campaigns?
We are preparing to add 500 new clients(dealers of a large franchise) to campaign monitor. These will be added automatically via the API as they sign up, but we need each new client to have a set of specific templates preloaded on client creation.
So having the ability to add templates via the API (or some other automated template adding system) is a deal breaker for us too!
Thanks for the feedback Tom, we will add that to our list.
This feature is also mission-critical for my team. Please implement asap via the api for v1. For v2, simply allow 'select all' templates from gallery, then 'apply templates to all clients' option.
Thanks for all your good work!
Hi - just wondering if this will be implemented in the regular interface in the near future? Thanks!
Hi coolgates, welcome to the forums! Unfortunately, no news as yet - the ability to add templates to multiple clients' accounts is still under consideration, so I don't expect that we will plan to release this in the immediate future. We'll let you know if this changes, though.
There is no way of scaling to cope with clients, lots of clients without this function. Even if, once logged in, you could go to the template library and click - add to my templates. Then you could customise from there.
