I'm trying to link some text and images in a client-editable template to a web version of the email.
I can't see any way of doing this with the webversion tag.
would it be safe to link to the webversion url that is generated in my preview (the one in the format e.g http://myemailsite.co.uk/t/1/e/yutklj/l/ )
is that the unique webversion url for that campaign, or does that url change depending on email tracking, authentication, etc.?
The web version is unique to each subscriber, so you have to use the webversion tag. You can use it anywhere in your actual template code, but not in editable content.
When using the webversion tag where is the user sent if selected? Is it to a version of the newsletter severed by CM? If so, is there a way to set up the webversion so it does not include the webversion tag and its associated text (seems redundant once viewing on the web) along with the unsubscribe?
Haven't been able to locate info that describes what the end users sees when viewing the webversion.
The web version is hosted on our servers, yes, and we don't currently remove anything. That would actually be quite tricky to do without introducing more required tags actually, to define which bits need to be removed.

I suppose we could just add a link directly. But I do understand that would circumvent CM's tracking of activity. My one question about that is what exactly does CM track from the webversion? Is it just click thru's or are you recording more info?
We are tracking opens and clicks for individuals following the web version link in their email. You would need to create your own version basically, if you wanted to edit it.
