Dynamic Content - specific to recipients areas of interest

Hi

I want to send tailored emails to my database of clients, where the content they receive specifically related to what they have specified an interets in.

i.e. the systm I envisage goes something like this:
I produce content on the following topics: Apples, Pears, Grapes, Bannanas, & Mars Bars
When I send my email campaign, clients only receive the content that they are interested in, i.e

Joe Soap has specified an interest in Apples & Pears. Therefore, the email he receives only contains info on Apples and Pears. The content on Grapes, Bannanas & Mars Bars is not included.

Hope I've explained this well.
Any advice on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Paul

Hey Paul,

If the content is smaller (< 250 characters) you could just get away with setting up some custom fields & using a segment for each group. If it's not, there isn't really a clean way to do it aside from, sending separate campaigns.

What you could do with the API though, and to keep this relatively dynamic is import the content from a dynamic page that has your content setup already. With the API, select the "Pear" list and import the URL with the "Pear" data on it. Rinse, wash & repeat for other groups. Downside to this method would be that you are gonna have to send a new campaign to each group, thus incurring the $5.

Hi Travis

Just to be sure:
Can the content of the email be imported for each recipient separately?
For example by dynamically grabbing a custom field and customize the link, where the mail content should be imported from, like:

http://www.mysite.com/user/[userid]/newsletter.html

Thanks

Hi there Paul, we're very glad to announce that dynamic content is finally available in your accounts. Using our new dynamic content tags and custom fields in your lists, it's now possible to add conditional content to your campaigns - including text, images, or even more dynamic content!

While you've likely already got a grip on how it all works, we've also got a new, comprehensive guide that explains the concepts, great applications for dynamic content and the language itself.

A huge thanks to everyone here for being so patient with us; we really hope that this update helps you send less, yet send more relevant newsletters. Naturally, we're also very happy to answer any outstanding questions you may have about dynamic content, so feel free to get in touch with our team, or post in the forums if we can help out in any way :)

Great, this seems to be the solution for my (unanswered) question posted a few days ago:
