I'm a big fan of CM and always attempt to be compliant with anti-spam practices.
Our double opt-in process involves the standard CM sign up webform plus (1) a welcome web page advising what will happen next, (2) an opt-in email and then, if opting in, (3) a confirmation and thank you web page.
I'd be interested in knowing what other CM users think of our opt-in text. Feel free to post the text that you use or make suggestions/provide tips.
Our web page confirmations are as follows (condensed):
(1) Welcome Page
xxxxxxxx email list - Confirmation
Thank you for subscribing to the xxxxxxxx email list.
What happens next?
- Before we send you any xxxxxxxx emails we ask that you please confirm your subscription.
- Once you receive the email from xxxxxxxx, please click on the link to confirm your subscription.
- You may also unsubscribe.
- Once you click on the link in the email you will be a fully opted-in member of the xxxxxxxx email list.
That's all there is to it! You will then receive emails from xxxxxxxx containing news of events in xxxxxxxx and any website updates. Return to the xxxxxxxx homepage
