April 1 launch? Bad idea?

Context:  Writing from the USA.  Last night on 60 Minutes a major report on email worms and malware.  Today I get a message from a friend's IT department warning of major worms going out effective April 1, "April Fool's Day."

Wondering if I should encourage a new client to email this week, or wait for the storm* to blow over.  The client has no existing email campaigns, so this will be new to recipients.

*Is there really a storm?

Thanks much.

We haven't heard much about it here in Australia, although April Fool's Day generally is possibly not the best time for an email. It's likely a lot of people will have inboxes filled with 'hilarious' email already ;)
