I've created an email newsletter that looks good and uploads well to Campaign Monitor. My problem is that I need to make it easy for someone who doesn't know HTML to make changes to it using CM's wysiwyg editor. Now that the HTML is already locked and loaded, how do I modify it for use with CM's editor?
Note - I had a designer create the template. I then went in and added all the correct content and hrefs. I know enough HTML to do that much but am afraid that I won't know where to begin if it requires anything more technical than basic HTML. I downloaded the "4-left sidebar" zip but am lost.
Thanks so much for any insight you can offer!
Have you had a look at the template tags? Checkout http://help.campaignmonitor.com/topic.aspx?t=129
That shows you the tags you need to have to make certain sections editable. Normally you would have your web designer create these tags for you.
If you are starting with one of our templates, you'll want to edit the HTML file in the campaign-monitor-editor folder,, because that already has the correct tags in it. you can upload that to your templates area for each client.
I uploaded the template, but I don't understand how to make text edits etc. with the WYSIWYG editor.
How do you access the WYSIWYG editor?
Must you always make text changes in the .html file and re-upload it?
What are options for people that do not know html well?
What is the next step after this? http://screencast.com/t/JPrSpyyQ
When you have the template in your account, and you go to the 'create/send' tab, you can choose to send an email campaign using that template.
Then you will see the WYSIWYG editor.
