Just done a test email from an imported template (I ticked the move CSS inline box )
Looking at the source of the received test mail, it has indeed moved the css inline, but has also moved the external css file into the head section.
If the css is inline, isn't the css in the head section redundant ?
and doesn't gmail zap any css in the head section anyway ?
thanks for your help
We do that because there are some styles (like link hovers) that can't be done inline, so we leave it there for email clients which do support css in the head.
The inline styles will be the same, but anything that can't be done inline will still be picked up from the head by capable clients.
