Been using CM for a year or so now, I love it to bits.
I have a number of different subscriber lists to cater for different marketing approaches. Something that I have come up against on a number of occaisions is the inability to move a subscriber from one list to another.
When you select a subscriber, there is the option to 'move' them to Deleted or Unsubscribed but why not move them to another list?
Basically, once a subsriber has become a hot prospect I add them to a different list, but the subscriber then stays on the original list, thus recieving 2 newsletters.
Am I missing something, or is this just the way it is?
You're not missing anything, there isn't a way to move someone to a list. Right now you'd need to either manually delete or unsubscribe them from the original list and then add them to the new list.
If you're frequently changing what lists people are subscribed to like that you could use segments with just 1 list instead of multiple lists. Then you'd just edit the subscribe to change an option and therefore their segment when you're moving them from "list" to "list".
This functionality would really be helpful!
+1 for this functionality
I could really use the ability to automatically remove a subscriber from list A when they subscribe to list B.
Real world: Someone on the "leads" optin list buys something. The sale needs to trigger a move from "leads" to "customers" since the message is different.
I've already had to move clients fro CM to aweber a couple of time due to this need, and I hate doing it.
This would be a great feature to have. Seems like a very common request and basic need.
+1 for this feature as well!
Hey there manifestcreative, I've added your vote internally - thank you! Naturally, we'll keep you posted if this is something we add in the future, although it's still not on our immediate timeline. In the interim, you may be able to work around this using our API. Thank you for letting us know this is something you're after :)
