Some clients provide ad URLs that are very long, with a tracking URL on them. For some reason, the URL works fine in a browser, but no longer works once the campaign has been imported to Campaign Monitor. When I click the ad after the campaign has been imported/sent as a test, I get this error: CMN3101E The system is unavailable due to "CMN0203E"
It seems that when CM rewrites the URL, it is cutting it short. We've run this ad before and had no problems until today.
If I make a tinyurl of it, it works. Is there a new character limit for URLs?
We do have a check in place for very long URLs (that are likely to cause problems), but you should see a warning on import for those. Did you see any warnings in this case?
No, there were no warnings. The URL simply didn't click through once imported. It appeared to be truncated upon import.
