Sending "From:" gmail address

I'm wondering if instead of using an email from a client's domain, instead using a free email from Gmail or Hotmail will get the newsletter sent to more spam boxes?

What do you think?

Hi mrtea,
I think your credibility, both to spam filters and to subscribers, suffers if you're not sending from your own (or your client's) domain.

I know I've received a lot of spam from hotmail addresses over the years.

So my personal recommendation would definately be to spend the few extra dollars on getting a domain name and mail server, as the credibility gained from it will quickly make up for the cost.

Hi mrtea, I'd 100% recommend against that option. For starters  you'll find the email will more than likely be blocked at that ISP and you'll dramatically increase the chances of it being filtered by others. Definitely a no no.
