Hi. I wonder if someone could help me understand custom domain names better...
What I want to do is this: When someone I have sent an email newsletter to clicks on one of the tags that takes them to a web page (e.g <subscribe>, <unsubscribe>, <webversion> etc), I want the URL to look as though the page is part of my own company's domain.
However, on the 'Customize/Set up custom domain' of Campaign Monitor it says "Enter the full domain name you and your clients will use when accessing this account". Which has me confused - I don't have clients who need to access this account, I only have subscribers.
So, will the 'set up custom domain' option do what I need or is there another way?
(I haven't been able to test this for myself because I also don't understand the CNAME/DNS stuff either and don't want to talk to my web host or domain provider until I know that this is what I want to do).
If you can throw any light on this, I would be most appreciative!
That message about clients is just to let you know that if you setup clients in your account, they'll use the same custom domain. If you don't have any other clients in your account, no need to worry about that at all.
From Australia to Zimbabwe, and everywhere in between, companies count on Campaign Monitor for email campaigns that boost the bottom line.Get started for free
