I am looking for a couple of willing testers to try an ExpressionEngine add-on I've developed. You'll get a free one site license to the add-on and your feedback will allow the add-on to mature into a better product for all.
The premise behind developing the add-on was that most of my clients newsletters/campaigns were compromised of content that they already published on their EE based website (e.g. blog entries, events, etc). I know you can import campaigns directly from CM via a URL, but the add-on goes one step further. It allows a content author to select recipients of the campaign and schedule or send the campaign immediately all from within the ExpressionEngine Publish form. Once the campaign is sent, you can even see basic stats for the campaign.
The add-on also has a module that allows you to use an EE form tag to add a subscriber sign-up form on your site. This allows you to use your EE site to display a response once users subscribe. It supports custom CM fields and joining multiple subscriber lists.
If anyone is interested in helping get this add-on off the ground please let me know.
Best Regards -
Thanks for the post, we'll tweet about this and I'm sure plenty of people will be interested. It sounds like great functionality!
This sounds really useful. I'd be happy to help test this out if possible
Hi Jason, this sounds spookily like a tentative spec we've just written for a site we're working on. We'd love to have the opportunity to help you test and bug fix this add-on. :)
Thanks for your interest Erik and Nathan. I'm polishing up documentation right now so expect an email from me within a day with the code and installation/usage instructions.
To anyone interested, this add-on named Champagne is available at http://natural-logic.com/software/champagne.
I have also written an article detailing how Champagne came to life and example use case. The article can be viewed at http://natural-logic.com/a/73.
Hi Jason, this is brilliant! We'll let folks know about Champagne today. Many thanks for doing the hard yards and developing this excellent add-on.
