How many e-mails is too many e-mails?

I've been trying to get an idea of how often to email my customers. I'm curious what the general consensus is on this. I've heard no more often than every 2 weeks, to two months! I'm looking for feedback from actually experience sending emails, not personal preferences.

Ryan, we just posted an excellent blog article on this very topic. Of course, how much is too much is, like beauty, in the eye of the beholder; so why not let your recipients choose?

It kind of depends on what type of site you have. If you are offering a info newsletter that has tips and things of that sort, then once a week to two weeks. If you're just sending sale campaigns then two weeks to a month. you have to be the judge on what your customers want. Would you want somebody to spam you to death?
