I'm trying to create a template with a Header and the ability to add multiple sub headers in the WYSIWYG editor. Is that possible? I've been playing around with the existing templates but can't make it work.
Yes, this is possible and will require a repeating item token for Campaign Monitor. This will wrap around a table tag and will include a title, description and image tag which can repeat as many times as you wish.
Here's what your code could look like:
<repeater> <table width="150" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td><$title$></td> </tr> <tr> <td><img src="<$imagesrc$>" width="50" hspace="5" vspace="5" align="left"> <$description$></td> </tr> <tr> <td height="20"><!-- Gap between repeating items --></td> </tr> </table> </repeater>
Thanks Jordan. I definitely wouldn't have thought of that!
It works but it only allows me to create one block with sub headers. If I then try to create another header the subheader "module" doesn't repeat/appear. As I understand you can't nest a repeater within another repeater... Not sure what to do there. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately the repeating sections are limited to one item each, so you can't have more than one of any additional token.
For Campaign Monitor this is a enhancement request that ought to be added, so we need to rally the troops to get this into the system.
In the meantime, my advise would to setup a few templates with nestled tables, which each template having a varied number of articles. This will take time to setup, but at least you can customise to your hearts content without any issues.
had you added the functionality that Littlemiss request? I have some clients that want a template for their newsletters, and I'll design a template with 2 'repeting' sections.
I found other tool like yours that offers this solution, however I wouldn't like to change to it. Currently, I'm using your tool for my clients and I'm proud of it.
I expect you had fixed it.
Thanks a lot!
Sorry to disappoint, but I don't actually work for Campaign Monitor, but alas this has been raised many times before and I agree it should be fixed, *cough cough, nudge nudge, wink wink*
Here's one of the main threads on this, so feel free to let the guys know too:
