Can I do this : <a href="http://www.domain.com/index.asp?t=[title,fallback=]&s=[surname,fallback=]">click</a>
When I tried it lost the parameters.

I'd prefer the click throughs for the link to be tracked (even without the customised query-string value uniquly identifying them)
