I am trying to add a tag within a URL in a html mail. The reason I am trying to do this is that we autolog our users using a specific userkey. We stored that key in a tag on campaignmonitor.
The idea would be to write something like this : <a href="www.mydomain.com&key=[myuserkey]" >click here</a>
Of course, that doesn't work because the tag is not interpreted when it is incapsulated like that. I was wondering if there was a correct syntax to do this?
Is it even possible?
thanks for helping me out
That should work… are you importing an HTML file, or using a template?
As long as the list you attached has the "myuserkey" custom field it should work. Keep in mind manually added subscribers will not have a custom field.
You can try adding a fallback term to see if it's working though. Even without the custom field you should be getting something.
