Stop table cell from getting bigger in height

Is there a way for stopping my tablecells from getting bigger in height?
I want them to stay at the same size even when i put to much text inside them.
I'm building my newsletter only in css and tables. Or do I have to use div layers?

<table width="724" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
      <tr>
        <td width="110" height="109" rowspan="2"><img src="<$imagesrc link='true' default='images/dj.gif'$>" width="110" height="109" border=0></td>
        <td width="253" height="89" class="tekstfeest"><strong><$description$></strong></td>
        <td width="110" height="109" rowspan="2"><img src="<$imagesrc link='true' default='images/dj.gif'$>" width="110" height="109" border=0></td>
        <td width="253" height="89" class="tekstfeest"><strong><$description$></strong></td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td width="253" height="20" class="prijstijd"><$description$></td>
        <td width="253" height="20" class="prijstijd"><$description$></td>
      </tr>
    </table>

How tables respond when the content bigger than the defined height will vary between browsers and email clients; in a div you'd use overflow:scroll for example to deal with it.
