I'm building a site that includes membership. People should be able to join the mailing list(s), become a member, or both. I can record for each person's membership whether or not they're on the mailing list(s), but because of the way un-subscribing works in CM, the site won't know if someone has opted out of receiving emails, so there could be people marked as being subscribed who in fact aren't.
So: The site will be able to generate a list of emails of members who, say, have logged in in the last month. I'd like for my client to be able to paste that into CM, but then have CM only send to addresses that are on their CM list(s).
Is this possible? Or is there another way round this problem, to be sure of not sending to people who have unsubscribed?
If the people have unsubscribed through Campaign Monitor, then they'll be on the suppression list, and won't be re-imported from a file, so that should just automatically work.
You can easily export a list of people who have unsubscribed from your Campaign Monitor account too, if you want to update your membership site.
Does that make sense?
From Australia to Zimbabwe, and everywhere in between, companies count on Campaign Monitor for email campaigns that boost the bottom line.Get started for free
