I was wondering if anyone knows of a quick and easy way to purge email addresses or import a custom, one time supression list?
We have a contest running on a client site that asks people to sign up for a chance to win a free vacation.
The first mailing went out and several hundred people signed up for the contest.
Now, they want to send a second mailing out, but remove the people who have already signed up for the contest.
What I want to do, is import those subscribers and not send to them, but NOT remove them completely from the mailing list.
Anyone have any ideas?
Other email clients I've used have had a "purge against previous mailing" or allow to add a custom, one time supression list. Any way to do that on campaign monitor?
Campaign Monitor doesn't have this kind of one-time suppression list, but if you can add a custom field, and fill it with a value for everyone who has already subscribed (just reimport into the same list with the extra field), then you could create a segment to target the remaining people.
So you'd have an 'enteredContest' field, and everyone who had entered would have a value of 'yes' for that field.
See http://www.campaignmonitor.com/resources/entry/1695/creating-and-using-segments/ for help with the segmenting part.
Thanks Mathew, I was afraid of that.
I'll go that route.
