Adding background image to body in CSS breaks default font in Outlook?

Weird sitch here, but when I added the background image to the body selector in CSS, suddenly my font-family spec in the body was no longer being inherited throughout the layout. I fixed this by adding it specifically to each table's CSS, of course, but I was wondering if anyone had seen this before, or if I was doing something odd which may have caused it.

    body {
      background-image: url('gradient_onepx.gif');
      background-repeat: repeat-x no-repeat;
      font-family: Arial, sans-serif;
      color: #262626;
      line-height: 1.4;

FWIW, the bg was originally entered at the end of the body selector.

Thanks in advance for any light you may be able to shed on this.

Background image isn't supported in Outlook 07/10, hotmail, or gmail, so you really shouldn't use it anyway.

Hi Patrick, that's very unusual. Would you be able to kindly post your campaign code here in this forum thread so we can take a look? Otherwise, you can send it to our support team and we'll try to get to the bottom of it all.

Substate - Sorry to correct you on this one, but we've been able to get background images working in Outlook '07 and Hotmail. If you're curious, there's a very active forum thread which discusses its application.
