inline css

The instructions in Campaign Monitor recommend using inline CSS, but every template I open/download then view code for has it in the head, not inline. So if I intend to modify a template, do I need to rewrite the code so CSS is inline, or leave as is (except for my mods)?  Is CM performing some kind of auto reformat?

Thanks in advance, from a newbie to CM.

You are right, Campaign Monitor does indeed do some processing for you to take styles from the head and place them inline. We leave them in the head for the templates because that makes them much easier to edit.

As soon as you import them, all the CSS will be made inline for you, so you don't need to manually do it.
