I've been working for several templates in different languages. Is there a recent list of which characterset belongs to which country. For Example I use for German the following characterset:
But you can also use windows-1252. Does anyone know the differences or advantages of one or the other?
For emails sent via Campaign Monitor we use UTF-8 - that covers almost everybody and is the best way to go for maximum compatibility.
If you are planning to import your emails or lists into Campaign Monitor then definitely go for UTF-8.
UTF-8 doesn't work for me when the content is cyrilic. But I will test some languages with UTF-8. Thank you!
Cyrillic can certainly be handled in utf-8 at least for some
cases - see http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/block/cyrillic/utf8test.htm
Does that work for you?
I'll do some test and let you know!
