Hi I used campaignmonitor for the first time to send an edm to 1500 users. We use Google Apps for email. I found out after the blast about Google Apps limits (something like 500 max emails per user per day). Would only 500 of my emails have been sent then? If so: (1) should I stagger delivery or (2) should I upgrade to a Google Apps Premier account or (3) should I not be using Apps?
Hi rodney, thanks for giving Campaign Monitor a go. I think there may be a bit of confusion here, as it's Campaign Monitor that sends out email campaigns, not Google Apps. Using Campaign Monitor should have no impact on your Google Apps account, or send limits.
Either way, take a look at your campaign reports - they've got all the stats on how many emails went out and more, so that's the best way to determine if there are any issues with your sent campaigns.
The domain is on Google Apps so the email address is a Google Apps/Gmail account and there are sending limits with Gmail/Apps email accounts, not sure if that matters tho if CM is actually sending the email? The campaign reports don't tell me if there's issues. It just says how many are unopened and the unopened number is only 130 or so, so I really doubt if everyone got the email for some reason. Any light you can shed would be appreciated
sorry was looking at the wrong chart so the figure quoted is incorrect, its more like 350 opens
As Ros mentioned, the emails are sent from our server, so any limit on the Google side won't impact that at all. For typical open rates (and which ones we can't track) check out http://help.campaignmonitor.com/topic.aspx?t=89
