We will send newsletters to our subscribers.
In the newsletter content will be the url link e.g. http://mydomain.com/?name=thomas
We pass parameter to our landing page where we will retrieve information about him (using API).
Do we have any other solution? I know that solution with passing parameters by urls isn't very safe.
How to direct user from newsletter to the landing page and retrieve the info about him using API? Does parameter in the url is really only option ?
A value as a query string parameter or some other portion of the URL will obviously allow you to look up data based on that value. However, we are in no position to judge whether or not it is advisable in your specific scenario.
You will need to make that judgement yourself, based on how sensitive the data is you will display based on the identifier you include in the URL.
