How do I do this with a template?

I have a customer who is dissatisfied with the CM template system. They are comparing with MailChimp and now that I've looked at the MailChimp template it does make CM look weak. In particular they want to change the 100% width header image for each email without resorting to editing the HTML of the template. This is easy in MailChimp but impossible as far as I can see in CM. Unless I'm missing something? If there is a way to do this I'd love to hear it. If not is there any plan to improve the templating?

Hi John
You’ll be pleased to know we’re working hard on a big template language and editor update right now so you'll soon see big improvements in this space.

However, you can certainly make that image editable by using the <$imagesrc$> tag. You can have a default image but they'll be able to replace it as they please.
