First time user here (ding ding ding) and I'm trying to put together a small test to kick the tires on Campaign Monitor.
I have formatted the html and created a text only version in a plaintext editor. Whenever I paste in the text-only version into the appropriate window, Campaign Monitor flags it as not having the [unsubscribe] tag, which it DOES. If I choose to edit it myself, I end up in an endless loop. If I opt to let CM add the unsubscribe tag, it deletes the ENTIRE message except for the opening salutation. I can't win!
We've actually sorted this out for you through the support system, but just for other people's benefit:
The problem in this case seemed to be an invisible character in the text file that was being pasted in, which was acting as an 'end of file' character and cutting off the import early. In some text editors that character was rendered as a space, and once the space was removed the import completed successfully.
We're trying to track down what that character is, so we can handle it automatically if possible, but so far we can't reproduce it. Fixing it as a one off basically means looking at where the text is cutting off, and cutting out parts there to see where the problem lies.
I am getting this same problem. I have used dreamweaver design view to copy the text content across if this helps.
The problem seems to be after a full stop and before a line break
Thanks nzime - can you tell us which version of Dreamweaver you are using?
when your in the textarea removing the problem you actually physically delete the hidden character with a backspace just after the full stop. although i found no way of being able to find out what this character was.
