I'd like to set up an autoresponder email that is triggered by one of the custom fields that is submitted by the user when they sign up for emails from us (I want to ask "Do you currently subscribe to our magazine?" and if they answer no, send only those people an auto responder email).
All I see is autoresponders triggered by dates - is triggering an autoresponder by a custom field even possible?
Hi mchowning, welcome to the forums. Unfortunately, this isn't yet possible with our autoresponders - I'll add your vote for this internally and let you know if this functionality gets slipped into a future update.
Would this be a possible work around?:
Using the API, if a custom field (i.e. 'magazine subscriber') is false, then using the API update a 'send ask for magazine subscription date' date field on the list and setup an autoresponder to send on that date. If 'magazine subscriber' is true leave 'send ask for magazine subscription date' empty of set to a date in the past.
Hi jrsteele, you could use the API to update date-based custom fields and trigger an autoresponder (which has been setup via the app, mind). Definitely a solid suggestion there!
